I have been looking for a new job as of late. And I found an incredibly misleading ad on Craigslist that seemed too good to be true. It was for an apprenticeship at a rapidly expanding business? That payed $500 a week. I called, learned it was called Fox Valley Distributing, and set up an interview. And set about trying to find information about online. And found nearly nothing other that it was linked in directories to vacuum cleaners.

Would I join the ranks of those who sell Kirby vacuums door to door? Desperately trying to give my sales pitch, in front of people who just wanted me to demonstrate their floors being cleaned for free?

I went in for the interview in a depressing office building that smelled faintly of cigarettes. There three middle aged men in the foyer were filling out tedious looking booklets. I signed in and explained that on some days I wouldn't have a car all day. I was then told that all the positions required continuous use of a car. After I was told to leave, I asked what they did there to which the receptionist replied thats none of your business.

Does anyone know what they do? It seems like a scam, maybe they count on your relatives buying vacuums.

My beliefs didn't exactly coincide with anything else the guy said. But obviously there is a need for him to have money for a TV show, a church and any personal expenses. That is what I hate about religion, is that some of the people involved become very wealthy and live extravagant life styles, when this happens I feel they are corrupt and immoral. Everything they say becomes a non offensive performance for money. A church should not be about filling the collection plate or bringing in new and hopefully wealthy parishioners. When money becomes your goal not to say anything to your parishioners that may offend them to the point of not coming back. Would you talk to "Bob" about his alcohol and spousal abuse, when you might lose his weekly $50? It's $2600 a year you might lose.

Money is expected to go for continued or better things for the church and partly for the community. When someone donates money to the "Church" it is donated to something almost abstract and ideal. Not a preachers Cadillac or first class plane tickets. Why couldn't a preacher drive a Chevy or fly coach? How can someone truly talk about how John the Baptist and Jesus lived, when they fly into town first class and are staying and eating at five star hotels and restaurants?

Things I have learned, in the last two years.

Never piss off a Hispanic girl.

Things will get better.

People who have the same political views as me, piss me off frequently.

Elitists are not very smart or interesting.

Nothing is black and white.

Everyone has something to teach you.

Most people are too busy looking at themselves to really look at you.

Traveling with a friend, even on a short car ride is enlightening.

The world is amazing, the way people think and act is absurd.

Grammar and spelling is important.

Two similiar robberies.

At UW-Oshkosh and UW-Milwaukee in the past two weeks, at both campuses there have been two different robberies. The UWM
Post does not describe the race or ethnicity of the robbers and instead
describes one of the assailants as "broadly built with an Afro haircut". While the Advance titan describes the robbers as "three African-American males".

Assuming that the perpetrators of both muggings were Black why did only the
Titan describe the robbers as African American and the Post as race less people?

The articles have only three possible purposes.
One reporting on an event that happened near campus. Two to raise
awareness to not walk alone or to be more cautious at nighttime. Three
to try to get people to come forward who may know more about the
suspects.

The purpose of the articles should be a combination of mostly the last two reasons. Race is part of someones physical descripton. It may very well perpetuate steretypes people hold. The Oshkosh and Milwaukee police will probably on their patrols give a group of young Black men more than a second look. But in Milwaukee students who may know something will be left out in the dark, because the full physical of the suspects descriptions has been left out.

Lose weight by drinking water.

If there is a slight dehydration the thirst mechanism may be mistaken for hunger and one may eat when the body is actually craving fluid. As most food contains some water...

Recycling.

Recycling uses less energy than processing new raw materials. And it reduces waste we put in landfills and creates jobs. If you have access to recycling bins please use them, it makes a difference.

It doesn't look like it will be cheap, since it will cater to business class passengers willing to pay extra. And that it plans to have the planes run from Germany to Japan. But being able to get drunk, while chain smoking on a plane. Seems like a stress free way to fly. The purpose of flight attendants and food. Is to distract you from the fact that you are in a metal tube going around six hundred miles an hour.

Fresh not recirculated air will be pumped into the cabins.
